Make Business Matter: Refugee Mentoring & Internship Workshop
In 2016, AmCham Denmark, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy and Foreningen Nydansker launched the successful Refugee Mentoring Program with Ambassador Gifford at Rydhave. As a follow-up, we are pleased to invite all interested stakeholders to a workshop on how to launch a refugee mentoring or internship program at your facility.
Linkedin’s Nordic Sales Director, Jean Hedayat will talk about the importance of social media networks as a stepping stone to the labor market, and his take on how public and private sectors can join forces in finding solutions to the refugee crisis.
Afterwards, experts from Foreningen Nydansker, along with participating company representatives, mentors and refugee-mentees/interns will break out into roundtable workshops, where you can ask questions regarding feasibility for these programs at your facility, and discuss your ideas about what companies can do to help the crisis.
About the Refugee Mentoring & Internship Programs
These programs are a partnership between the company and Foreningen Nydansker who handles the logistics. The programs are not a guarantee of employment, but require willing employees/departments who will donate time and engagement to these pre-screened and highly skilled mentees/interns. The scope of the programs can be customized to the company’s needs and resources.
For businesses, this is a great CSR initiative that will also help develop your employees’ diversity management and training skills, and tap into undiscovered talent.
