On October 25, AmCham members and stakeholders gathered for AmCham’s Fall Member Dinner at Sølyst, which was sponsored by Copenhagen Capacity and RiskPoint Insurance.

This annual event focuses on the importance and positive impact of foreign companies investing in Denmark, and culminates in the presentation of the Foreign Company of the Year.

The evening featured insightful and thought provoking speeches from Cynthia Hellen (CEO & founder of SMPLCT Lab) and Johannes Langkilde, former U.S. correspondent for DR-TV.

Cynthia Hellen, who has been called a “social entrepreneur rock star”, shared her inspiring personal story and spoke about her organization’s mission for designing low-cost solutions for people living on less than $2 a day, and educating society on sustainability.

Johannes Langkilde shared highlights from his soon to be released book 'The Great American Breakup' (Da Amerikanerne gik hver til sit), which is based on his personal encounters with the American people during his four years in the U.S.

The evening concluded with the U.S. Embassy’s Chargés Laura Lochman and Finance Minister Kristian Jensen announcing the winner of the 2017 Foreign Company of the Year, which went to Medtronic. The award was accepted by Medtronic's Regional Vice President Mette-Marie Harild
