Meet the 2018 Transatlantic Company of the Year Finalists!
 

AmCham Denmark, in partnership with American-Danish Business Council, is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2018 Transatlantic Company of the Year. We congratulate these outstanding companies and wish them well as AmCham's independent jury evaluates their accomplishments. The winner will be announced at our March 16 Transatlantic Summit.

 

 

KMC
Danish-based KMC develops, produces and sells innovative and cost-effective potato-based ingredients to the global food manufacturers. KMC has a turnover of approx. 250 mio USD of which 95% is exported to around 85 countries. Our non-GMO and non-allergenic ingredients fit well with vegan and free-from food trends and we offer specialized expertise in areas such as replacement of dairy proteins in imitation cheese, removal of eggs from dressings and reformulation of jelly candy without gelatin.

LEO Pharma
LEO Pharma is a foundation-owned, research-based pharmaceutical company with a well-established presence in dermatology and skin inflammation diseases.  Founded in 1908, it is the first real pharmaceutical company established in Denmark and throughout its history, LEO Pharma has served individuals and societies by breaking new grounds in healthcare and demonstrating a lasting commitment to patient care. Siteimprove was founded by CEO, Morten Ebbesen in 2003 and the U.S. market has played a key role in the company’s growth.

Ørsted
Ørsted is the recognized global leader in the successful development, construction and operation of commercial-scale offshore wind projects. With a 20+ year record of success, Ørsted has built 23% of the total offshore wind capacity in the world – more than any other company – in Denmark, Germany, the UK and Netherlands, and is in early development stages in the US and Canada. Ørsted employs 2,253 people in its wind power business unit and is committed creating local jobs through green energy.

Weibel Scientific
Weibel Scientific is the leading global producer of Doppler radars for use in aerospace, defense, and missile defense industries. Weibel has worked with US space and defense agencies since 1983 and is a close strategic partner to US defense company Lockheed Martin, with whom Weibel in 2017 won a historic contract from US defense. Weibel radars have secured safety for the astronauts onboard NASA space shuttles and rockets since 2005, and the same proven technology offers unique capabilities to ballistic missile defense. Weibel employs more than 100 people and is located in Allerød, near Copenhagen, Denmark.
