On March 7, AmCham’s HR Committee organized an interactive session on how to navigate cultural differences in international business, which was hosted by Lundgrens Law Firm.

The event featured sought-after consultant and cultural expert, Henry Zinglersen, Thunderbird School of Global Management (a part of Arizona State University), who has worked with international leaders and multinational teams merger and acquisition projects in over 90 countries. In the age of business globalization, he argued that successful integration depends less on aligning structure and strategy, and more on strong management of people and culture.

Business cases by Anne Mette Traberg, Head of Global HR for Maersk Line and Jakob Lyngsøe Andersen, Director of Human Resources for FMC reflected on recent mergers in their own organizations, and how the difference in corporate culture was one of the most important challenges that they worked to overcome.
