AmCham Denmark has reviewed a successful 2017, finalized the merger between AmCham and the Danish American Business Forum (DABF) and elected new board members – paving the way for a strong 2018 and an even stronger future.

The actions came at AmCham’s March 16 Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was skillfully chaired by Ulrik Fleischer-Michaelsen (NJORD Law Firm) and included members from both organizations in attendance.

Board Report
AmCham Chairman Angela Naef presented the annual report from the Board of Directors, concluding that 2017 had been a strong year for AmCham, making significant progress representing the interests of U.S. and International companies in Denmark.

Naef also noted that in September the AmCham office was successfully relocated to Dag Hammarskjölds Allé, directly across from the U.S. Embassy, with a much improved meeting space “The AmCham Loft”.

Merger Announcement
Following the board report, Angela Naef and DABF Chairman Peter Kürstein announced the successful AmCham – DABF merger, which boosts AmCham’s membership to over 260 companies and 6 employees. “This merger is a great opportunity for both organizations and the time is right for joining hands, simply because we can do more together than apart,” stated Kürstein.

Board Elections
In other AGM business, AmCham strengthened its Board of Directors with the election of four former DABF Board members: Peter Kürstein (Radiometer), Lars Marcher (Ambu), Michael Schmal (DSV Air & Sea) and Michael Stanley (NKT Photonics). Additionally, the earlier board appointment of Richard Wright (Roche) was confirmed.
