On March 16, business leaders gathered at Danske Bank’s Kuppelsal for AmCham’s annual Transatlantic Business Summit, which featured a wide range of speakers discussing the current state of the transatlantic relationship.

The summit opened with a welcome from U.S. Ambassador Carla Sands who praised the importance the strong diplomatic and trade relations between Denmark and the U.S. - emphasizing that the U.S. is open for Danish businesses and investments.

The Danish Foreign Ministry’s State Secretary of Trade Susanne Hyldelund shared her view on Danish business in the U.S. and stated that it is crucial to maintain open economies on both sides of the Atlantic in order to continue a prosperous relationship.

Following the introductions, Danske Bank’s Chief Financial Officer Jacob Aarup-Andersen provided attendees with a transatlantic economic update - highlighting that digitalization will make or break future economic development.

The speeches were rounded out with an informative panel discussion entitled ‘Transatlantic Success Stories’, moderated by Jørgen Bardenfleth (Lyngsoe Systems et al.) and featuring representatives from the 2018 Transatlantic Company finalists: Jakob Askou Bøss (Ørsted); Peder Pedersen (Weibel Scientific); Camilla Simonsen (Siteimprove); Jens Olivarius (SimCorp) and Hugo Nielsen (KMC).

The summit concluded with U.S. Ambassador Carla Sands announcing Siteimprove as the winner of the 2018 Transatlantic Company of the Year. To read more about the Transatlantic Company, click here.
