How Purpose-Driven Companies Take Leadership of Their Industries

On March 20, “The AmCham Loft” formed the backdrop for a Power Breakfast session on the importance for companies to find and follow a clear purpose, in order to achieve their full potential. 

The session featured Michael Sherain, Partner, Quadric, a strategic positioning, brand and marketing consultancy based in Copenhagen, who gave a clear and concise presentation on how top companies determine their purpose, and utilize it to drive every aspect of their business.

Research shows that purpose-driven companies perform better, have more engaged employees, more loyal customers, and are better at innovation and transformational change.

However, it is important to remember that ‘purpose’ should not be equated with CSR or sustainability, but with long-term value creation that will positively impact the bottom line.

Utilizing concrete examples from companies like Volvo, Airbnb, Ørsted and Novozymes, Sherain shared methods for determining ‘purpose’ along with tips on how to integrate it into the entire organization.
