On May 6, AmCham, in cooperation with Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen, Quadric and DSV, held an engaging seminar on ‘Key Drivers for Successful US M&A’.

A 70% increase in Danish investments to the USA, along with a steep rise mergers and acquisitions in both countries set the scene for the event, where experts shared their knowledge about how to pave the way for a smooth transition.

Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen’s Founding Partner, Dan Moalem, kicked off the seminar by focusing on the key issues arising during the transaction phase of M&A, including a comparison between Denmark and the U.S. in these negotiations. Michael Sherain from Quadric consultancy shared insights on how to mitigate issues by identifying a common purpose and common values in order to achieve a successful merger. Finally, DSV’s Executive Vice President Carsten Jørgensen spoke openly DSV’s acquisition of American firm UTi, underscoring the importance of a ‘one company strategy’ and top-level commitment to the business and execution plans.
