On November 1, Dell EMC partnered with AmCham to present a Women in Technology lunch focusing on how gender diversity generates innovation, bringing more relevant technology to the marketplace.

The number of women in technology careers is extremely low globally, and Denmark is no exception. The proof is in the numbers: Today, percentage of females in the tech industry in Denmark is around 30% - and only 27% of the new students in IT programs in Denmark are female.

Dell EMC’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Anja Monrad, moderated an excellent discussion on the topic with an impressive group of panelists that are working to implement change in this area:

  • Camilla Ley Valentin, CCO & Co-founder, Queue- IT
  • Nana Bule, Director, Marketing & Operations, Microsoft
  • Kirstin Rolver, Business Digitalization & Internationalization, The Danish ICT Industry Association (ITB)
  • Eva Fog, Founder, DigiPippi
  • Astrid Simonsen Joos, CEO, Signify Nordics (former Philips Lightings)
  • Per B. Brockhoff, Professor and Head of Department, Technical University of Denmark
  • Nicolai Moresco, Vice President & Men Advocating Real Change Ambassador, Dell EMC

The panelists agreed that this discussion needs to be taken at all levels of business and government, but it is extremely important that we start with encouraging girls interest in technology from a very young age.
