Mads Fuglede meets member of the AmCham Policy Committee

On November 2, AmCham’s Policy Committee met with Mads Fuglede, Member of Parliament for the Danish Liberal Party (Venstre).

As Venstre’s newly appointed spokesperson on Integration, Foreigners and Refugees, Mads shared the government’s policies on this highly debated topic. He underlined the importance of distinguishing between refugees and foreign labor when debating immigration in order to qualify the debate properly – a point that AmCham has recently argued as well. In addition, Fuglede predicted that this the topic will become a political hot potato in the upcoming general election.

With Fuglede being a longtime U.S. expert commentator, the roundtable also featured a lively and informative discussion on the upcoming midterm elections in the U.S.

Mads Fuglede has been a parliamentary candidate for the Danish Liberal Party (Venstre) since 2014 and a Member of Parliament since October 1, 2017. He is the party's spokesperson integration and refugee issues. Fuglede has previously served as a U.S. expert commentator on TV2 - particularly during the 2008 and 2012 U.S. Presidential elections. He is also a published author and a sought-after speaker. Mads Fuglede holds a Master's Degree in History & Philosophy from Aarhus University and has taught several courses in international politics and U.S. History at Danish universities and folk schools (Højskoler).
