Lone Dencker Wisborg will be the new Danish Ambassador to the U.S.

Lone Dencker Wisborg will be the new Danish Ambassador to the United States, replacing Ambassador Lars Gert Lose, who was recently named as the new Permanent Secretary for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Wisborg has more than 25 years of experience with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and will be the first woman to serve as the Danish Ambassador to the U.S. She previously served as the Danish Ambassador to Spain (2011-2015) and has extensive knowledge within the areas of global security and law.

About Lone Dencker Wisborg

Lone Dencker Wisborg currently serves as State Secretary/Chief Operating Officer in the MFA and has previously served as State Secretary of Foreign Policy, Under-Secretary for Global Security and Head of the Security Policy Department in the MFA. She also has experience from the private sector as she served as Chief Operational Officer for the Bikuben Foundation (2006-2007). Wisborg received her Master of Laws from Aarhus University in 1991.
