AmCham executives hosted an executive roundtable session with Danish Tax Minister Kristian Jensen and members of his team. The main purpose of the November 10 meeting at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel was to present and discuss AmCham's newly released Foreign Investors’ Agenda as well as establish lines of communication for information sharing, including feedback and experiences from AmCham members.

Participants from AmCham Denmark were AmCham Chairman Paul Coleman; Executive Director Stephen Brugger; Tax Committee Chair Ulrik Fleischer-Michaelsen; Niels Christian Furu of Cisco Systems; Anders Madsen of 3M; and Ellen Hertz Bilberg of the U.S. Embassy, who also serves as AmCham’s ex-officio Tax Committee member.

“We are encouraged by the open and frank conversation, and by the spirit of cooperation that the roundtable session signals,” Brugger says.

The executives and officials discussed Denmark’s corporate income taxes, personal and marginal income tax rates, stock options, expatriate taxation, and tax Incentives for research and development. They also addressed proposals to promote a favorable investment climate here, the importance of input on tax policy from foreign investors in Denmark, and ideas on how to best implement tax legislation and initiatives.
