Keynote speaker J.P. Steffensen of Niels Bohr Institute's Ice and Climate Group presents his findings on ice cores in Greenland.
ESAC 2008 attracts over 250 industry professionals from Denmark and Sweden.
The eighth annual Executive Seminars in Analytical Chemistry, ESAC 2008, attracted more than 250 researchers, chemists, suppliers and industry experts to the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen on April 15 for a unique industry event featuring American analytical instrument manufacturers.
ESAC 2008 was sponsored by AmCham Denmark's Analytical Instruments Committee and is the result of an ongoing collaboration between 6 independent companies: Agilent Technologies, Applied Biosystems, Dionex, Perkin Elmer, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Waters. The companies’ efforts culminate each year in the conference, which enables scientific researchers to network, share their experiences, and to learn more about the latest methods and results in their specific field of research.
This year's event featured the latest developments within Life Science/Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Food/Environmental applications, and included a new session focused on Clinical/Forensic applications. The seminars were also enhanced by keynote speakers involved in leading-edge, innovative research including Anne-Marie Jacobsen of NeuroSearch, Bruce Compton of CMC Biologics, and Marie Just Mikkelsen of Biogasol, among others.
Participants had the opportunity to choose between 30 different seminars organized in 4 parallel sessions, to visit informational booths by the progressive vendors, and to network with industry professionals. The conference ended with an annual raffle drawing and a look forward to next year's conference, ESAC 2009.
