Independence Day 2010: A Danish - American Celebration
By: AmCham Denmark (Jul 06, 2010)
The U.S. Embassy's 2010 Independence Day celebration was one that truly celebrated the strong American – Danish ties. Ambassador Laurie S. Fulton hosted more than 1,400 diplomats, Danish and American government officials and top international business leaders, for an afternoon of great food, refreshing beverages and plenty of spirit. AmCham Denmark and several of its members were pleased sponsor this year's celebration, which took place at Rydhave, the Ambassador's official residence.
Rydhave’s magnificent gardens were bordered by the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers and The Diplomat restaurant in the U.S. Embassy, generously delivering a five star gastronomical experience to the guests. The finishing touches were added by Beringer, Gallo, American wines from The Diplomat, Budweiser, Ben & Jerry's, and America’s soft drink, Coca-Cola.
Under a glorious Danish summer sun, celebrating both the 234th anniversary of America’s independence and her own 61st birthday, Fulton welcomed her guests and family members to Rydhave. She praised the spirit of friendship between the United States and Denmark, a relationship about as old as the United States itself. Guests were entertained throughout the afternoon by the Navy band, Top Brass, bringing the flavor of southern jazz to the occasion.
AmCham Denmark wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the sponsors for making this celebration possible.
