Finalists for 2012 Transatlantic Company of the Year Announced!


AmCham Denmark is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2012 Transatlantic Company of the Year:

Bavarian Nordic is a biotech company developing vaccines for the prevention and treatment of infectious disease and cancer. Bavarian Nordic has been successful in establishing a business with a strong foundation based on public private partnerships 

Coloplast develops products and services that make life easier for people with very personal and private medical conditions. Working closely with the people who use our products, we create innovative solutions in the areas of ostomy care, urology and continence care, and wound and skin care.

LEGO's toy portfolio consists of colorful interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of parts which can be assembled and connected in many ways, focusing  on the development of children's creativity through playing and learning. 

Novozymes' produces bio solutions that increase industrial efficiency. Across many industries our enzymes, microorganisms, biopolymers and other proteins help companies achieve more efficient use of their raw materials, reduce energy consumption, and replace traditional chemicals with more sustainable alternatives. Our technology is used in a variety of everyday products - it enables cars to run on fuel made from waste, consumers to wash at low temperatures and much more.       

Santaris Pharma A/S is an international clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of RNA-targeted therapies to treat a range of diseases.

In the coming weeks, AmCham's independent jury will select a winner from these seven outstanding companies. The winner of the 2012 Transatlantic Company of the Year will be announced by U.S. Ambassador to Denmark Laurie S. Fulton at AmCham's March 28th Transatlantic Business Roundtable.

About the Award

AmCham Denmark’s Transatlantic Company of the Year is awarded to an AmCham member company invested in the U.S. that has demonstrated significant achievements in one or more of the following areas:

  • Growth in employee count and/or revenues in the U.S. (in a relative sense)
  • Significant investments in the U.S. (in a relative sense)
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Development/launch of an innovative product or service
  • Development of an innovative work environment, incorporating a multicultural workforce.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
