2020 ‘State of the Union’ Briefing

AmCham Denmark in partnership with Danske Bank invited members and partners to a morning briefing on the “State of the Union”, and what companies can expect from 2020 and beyond.

With the U.S. presidential election campaigns well underway and just ahead of the President’s ‘State of the Union’ speech, our expert speakers discussed key developments within the economy, politics, and business.

Mikael Olai Milhøj, Senior Analyst, Danske Bank, gave an overview of the U.S. Economic Outlook 2020 including growth outlook, trade war scenarios, consumer confidence, and employment trends.

Torsten Jansen, Associated Partner, Lead Agency, spoke about the U.S. political landscape and some of the major factors influencing the coming election both on the Republican and Democratic sides.

Bjarne Corydon, CEO, Editor-in-Chief, Børsen, rounded off with some business perspectives affecting both Danish and US companies operating under, often underestimated, global megatrends within i.e. cybersecurity, permanent low-interest rate environment, cost of climate change and new political coalitions.
