2025 Foreign Investment Summit – Quantum Technology & AI
AmCham Denmark, in partnership with Invest in Denmark, is proud to continue the tradition of hosting the Foreign Investment Summit, highlighting the critical role of foreign companies in driving growth and job creation in Denmark.
At the 2025 summit, the spotlight was on quantum technology and AI, which are the current powerful drivers of innovation and investment.
On September 8, we brought together leading policymakers, industry experts, and international executives at the Novo Nordisk Foundation to share perspectives on Denmark’s vision and the opportunities that lie ahead.
Welcoming us all to this years summit, Lina Gandløse, State Secretary for Trade and Investments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, startet out with a presentation on Denmark’s vision for quantum innovation and how it can attract foreign investment.
To introduce us to the world of quantum computing, Lene Oddershede, Senior Vice President at the Novo Nordisk Foundation, presented the huge potential of quantum computing for drug discovery and life science.
Panel Debates
Quantum use cases
To talk about how Denmark is taking a leading position in the global quantum race, we were joined by the two expert leaders Nadia Carlsten, CEO at Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI), and Jakob Svagin, Director of Quantum at BioInnovation Institute. This session was moderated by Lene Oddershede and centered around how investments form the foundation for turning deep tech excellence into scalable, real-world solutions across sectors such as life science, green transition, and dual-use technologies.
How can Denmark benefit from the legacy of Niels Bohr?
To discuss Denmark’s famous “Bohr Legacy” – how the quantum journey builds on world-class physics and a culture of open, cross-disciplinary collaboration – we were joined by three experts in their field; Bryan Choo, Co-founder & COO of Maybell Quantum, Lauri Sainiemi, VP of Fabrication at Microsoft Quantum, and Kim Splittorff, Professor at Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen & Head of Quantum Information Science and Technology. Moderated by Jakob Svagin, the discussion centered around the interesting question on how to turn heritage into a durable advantage.
Investment trends in AI & quantum
To round up the summit, the last panel discussed the current investment trends in the quantum and AI sector. To give us some insights on this topic, we were joined by Mette Buskjær Rasmussen, Special Advisor, Quantum Tech, Invest in Denmark, Rune Gade Holm, Head of Investments, PensionDanmark, and Anders Thorup-Jensen, Director, Head of Special Investments & Platform, EIFO. They highlighted how competition for AI and quantum investment is intensifying globally, but Denmark has an advantage in its stable institutions, strong research, and public-private collaboration. The task now is to align the capital stack with predictable rules and enabling infrastructure.
Thanks to Invest in Denmark for helping us present this important event. And a special thanks to all the speakers who helped make this day so very interesting and valuable!
