2025 Transatlantic Conference in Brussels

Our CEO, Stephen Brugger, and Governmental Affairs Consultant, Valdemar Bjergvang have just returned from  inspiring days in Brussels, at the 2025 Transatlantic Conference, where they connected with fellow AmCham colleagues from across Europe. Policy discussions revealed concrete ways we can collaborate to support business interests while building trust with stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic.

A major takeaway was gaining valuable insights into the EU’s strategic priorities, particularly the need to increase competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global landscape. We learned a lot about the upcoming five Omnibuses, which will address areas such as simplifying sustainability reporting, streamlining investment opportunities, enhancing fair competition through carbon regulations, and improving the regulatory framework for sustainable business practices.

It was clear that the EU is highly aware of the need to modernize and adapt to maintain and strengthen its economic position, and fostering innovation and strong data flows will be crucial moving forward.

Stephen and Valdemar report that one quote in particular stayed with them: “There are a lot of strong headwinds coming. The transatlantic economy may bend, but it will not break”. More important information from the conference will be shared at AmCham Denmark’s upcoming 2025 Transatlantic Summit, on April 8.

Our sincerest thanks to the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) and AmChams in Europe for bringing us all together for these valuable exchanges!
