Celebrating 25 Years of Leadership: Farewell to AmCham Director Stephen Brugger

On October 27, members, partners, and friends gathered to honor Stephen Brugger, who after 25 years of service as AmCham’s Executive Director, is stepping back from his role.

The event marked a heartfelt celebration of Stephen’s remarkable leadership and contribution to strengthening the transatlantic relations. Over the past quarter century, Stephen has shaped AmCham into the trusted and influential voice it is today. Representing more than 230 corporate members, and championing the international business community across Denmark and the U.S.

The afternoon featured tributes from former U.S. Ambassadors to Denmark, who joined via video to celebrate Stephen’s impact on the transatlantic business and diplomatic landscape. Their messages were echoed by Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who praised Stephen’s outstanding achievements and dedication to fostering strong transatlantic ties.

In recognition of his extraordinary service, Stephen was presented with the American flag by the U.S. Embassy, symbolizing his lasting contribution to U.S.-Danish relations.

The event also marked a new beginning for AmCham Denmark, as we welcomed Mark Draper as the organization’s new Executive Director. A seasoned American leader with extensive experience across diplomacy, politics, and corporate affairs, Mark brings a strong vision for AmCham’s continued growth and impact.

AmCham extends sincere thanks to all members, partners, and friends who joined us in celebrating this important milestone, and in honoring Stephen’s remarkable legacy of leadership, community, and collaboration.
