Defense Industry Reception and AmCham Denmark BBQ Networking Reception

Innovation is not in short supply on either side of the Atlantic. Turning it into capability is the harder problem. That was the thread running through this year’s Transatlantic Defense Industry Dialogue: Building the Arsenal of Allied Innovation, hosted by U.S. Ambassador Ken Howery, and it carried straight into the AmCham Denmark BBQ Networking Reception that closed the day.

“Innovation is happening all around us, the larger challenge is translating innovation into scalable, interoperable capabilities that can support Ukraine, strengthen NATO, and ensure that our societies remain secure and free,” said AmCham Denmark Executive Director Mark Draper in his welcome remarks at the reception.

Joining Ambassador Howery for the evening were HRH Prince Joachim, Danish Ambassador to the United States Jesper Møller Sørensen, and Assistant Secretary Dale Marks of the U.S. Department of War, alongside senior military officers and industry representatives from both Denmark and the United States.

With the formal programme behind them, guests moved outdoors for barbecue, conversation, and the kind of unscripted exchange that turns a day of panels into working relationships. The reception underscored what AmCham Denmark’s community knows well: transatlantic cooperation is built as much in these settings as in the meeting room.
