Diversity in Tech Drives Innovation
On October 31, Dell Technologies partnered with AmCham to present a Women in Technology lunch focusing on the importance of diversity as a driver for innovation, and ultimately growth by bringing more diverse technology to the marketplace.
We all know the negative side of the story – not enough women in technology, not enough girls enrolling in sciences in school, biases from a young age. Many leave careers early due to challenges & bias in the workplace. These are important stories – and true. But what about the many women who stay? What are they doing?
Dell EMC’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Anja Monrad, moderated an excellent discussion with a group of inspiring panelists who shared why they are passionate about the opportunities the industry brings, how IT fundamentally shapes our future and how crucial diverse representation is as our societies digitally transform.
- Kathrine Forsberg, Senior Vice President, Atea
- Suzaan Sauerman, Vice President, Head of Consumer, Telia
- Lise Knudsen, Deputy Director, Maternity Foundation
- Jon Alsterberg, Nordic Sales Director Channel, Dell Technologies
Following the panel were table discussions on how to initiate change immediately in the workplace. Many agreed that it is important to continually reflect on our own unconscious bias, and just as important, to call out bias when we see it.
