Employee Engagement & Mental Health Awareness During COVID19

On April 27, AmCham partnered with two of its members, Area9 Lyceum & Implement Consulting Group for a virtual knowledge sharing session on employee engagement and mental health awareness during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The World Economic Forum stated that the quarantine and lockdown of 2.6 billion people on the planet is the largest psychological experiment ever conducted. During the event, Dr. Ulrik Christensen, M.D. and CEO, Area9 Adaptive Learning shared his view of the psychological impact on employees. As the virus is impacting our sense of what is important, it is vital for well being that employees focus their attention and development on relevant tasks. ‘Overcoming COVID is a marathon, not a sprint. We have to adapt our expectations.”

Additionally, the lockdown requires leaders to quickly develop ‘virtual’ leadership skills. Sociologist & Motivational Author Nicolai Moltke-Leth, Consultant with Implement Consulting Group, shared how to to keep employees energized and engaged in order to build organizational resilience during and after the crisis.
