FMC Named 2025 Foreign Company of the Year
AmCham Denmark is proud to announce FMC as the winner of the 2025 Foreign Company of the Year!
An independent jury selected FMC in recognition of its long-term commitment, sustained investments, and strong partnerships that have made a lasting impact on Denmark’s business and research communities.
Since establishing its presence in Denmark in 2015, FMC has invested more than $2.5 billion, steadily expanding its operations and workforce. Even in challenging market conditions, FMC has demonstrated resilience by reinforcing its position through strategic investments in R&D and bio-solutions. A landmark example of this is the acquisition of BioPhero, a spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), which paved the way for scaling innovative pheromone technologies. In 202, this commitment was further realized with the opening of new production facilities in Rønland, enabling full-scale manufacturing of pheromones.
FMC’s success is also rooted in its strong collaborations with Danish partners, including long-standing alliances with Novonesis and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). These partnerships highlight the company’s dedication to advancing science and innovation together with Denmark’s world-class research environment.
Jury spokesperson Jørgen Bardenfleth comments:
“FMC Corporation has shown what it means to be a true partner in Denmark — not only through major investments and cutting-edge innovation, but also by building strong alliances and supporting STEM talents.”
Beyond business growth, FMC is actively engaged in the Danish community. The company supports STEM education, and in 2024 when an FMC Rønland intern won gold at DM in Skills as the nation’s top process operator—which led to her full-time employment at the company. FMC Denmark also takes pride in fostering an inclusive workplace, where 35 nationalities are represented among its employees..
FMC’s VP & President, EMEA Sebastiá Pons remarked: “We are truly honored to be recognized as AmCham’s 2025 Foreign Company of the Year. This award comes at a very special moment, as we celebrate 10 years in Denmark. It is a recognition of the dedication of our more than 500 colleagues in the country, and of the role Danish science and manufacturing play in delivering sustainable solutions for global food security and public health.”
AmCham congratulates FMC for this well-deserved recognition and applauds their contributions to Denmark’s business landscape.
“Foreign companies hold the key to future growth in the economy, and when they invest in Denmark, it creates jobs and innovation. We are proud to recognize FMC for their strategic investments, pioneering partnerships, and strong community engagement – FMC truly exemplifies what it means to be a Foreign Company of the Year in Denmark,” says Stephen Brugger, AmCham Executive Director.
We would also like to congratulate this year’s other highly qualified finalists: AGC Biologics, DHL and Siemens Healthineers.
