AmCham at Folkemødet 2025

On June 12-14, AmCham once again travelled to Bornholm, to join member companies at the annual Danish democracy festival ‘Folkemødet‘. We got the opportunity to engage with members and partners and join in on a wide array of relevant events and discussions in line with our general purpose of strengthening the voice of international business and promoting innovation, jobs and growth in Denmark.

Debate with Danish Entrepreneurs and IT-Branchen
On Thursday, AmCham’s Executive Director Stephen Brugger moderated a timely debate at Folkemødet: Why are so many European scaleups heading to the U.S. to grow – and what does that say about Europe’s startup ecosystem?

An expert panel took on this complex question, featuring:

Natasha Friis Saxberg, Director, IT-Branchen, Henrik Dahl, Member of the European Parliament (L.A.), Jens Lundsgaard, Deputy Director, OECD, & Stine Mølgaard Sørensen, Alliance VC & Co-founder of Radiobotics

The debate brought together diverse perspectives from politics, industry, and venture capital – all exploring what Europe can learn from the U.S. when it comes to innovation, scaling, and fostering a competitive startup environment.

While political tensions across the Atlantic persist, the U.S. remains a vital partner for Europe. Especially because of its strong track record on innovation and entrepreneurship.

American Barbeque
On Friday we gathered AmCham members, friends and political stakeholders at Hotel Allinge for our ever-popular American Barbecue Lunch. It was great seeing so many of our members and stakeholders in a relaxed and sunny environment – thank you to all who joined and the many great conversations!

Member events
In Allinge, we had the pleasure of reconnecting with several of our members and partners – a great opportunity for our new team members to engage with key stakeholders for the first time. We thoroughly enjoyed the many insightful conversations and had the chance to attend a number of inspiring events throughout the festival.

Thank to all of our Elite Partners for their support in making AmCham’s presence at Folkemødet possible.
