Meet DSV – A finalist for the 2020 Transatlantic Company of the Year
During the coming weeks, we will give you an opportunity to get to know the finalists for the AmCham 2020 Transatlantic Company of the Year award – starting with DSV!
DSV Panalpina A/S (DSV) was founded in 1976 by 9 haulers and today the company has approx. 60,000 employees, a global revenue of DKK 120 billion and is present in more than 80 countries! DSV has a long history in the U.S. with the first office established in the 1980’s. Today, DSV has more than 80 offices covering the U.S. from coast to coast. The company has an ambitious growth strategy that covers both organic and M&A growth. In 2016, DSV took over the American company UTi and in 2019 Panalpina was added. These mergers created growth in both the U.S. and Denmark, as well as globally.
DSV Operations in the U.S.
In the U.S. the company has delivered double-digit annual growth for more than a decade. USA is a highly profitable country for DSV within Air & Sea transport and has approx. 5,500 employees countrywide, across divisions. In 2016 DSV launched a Road division that continues to expand and in 2019 a Solutions division was added.
DSV has an extensive strategic cooperation with leading American airlines and global shipping companies, as well as close cooperation with the relevant authorities including the U.S. Customs Authority, FDA, etc.
Through their Global Innovation Lab, DSV continuously develops new logistics solutions including automation of warehouses and routings; as well as developing ways to cut CO2 emissions. As a global transport and logistics company, DSV continuously tracks its new initiatives and responsibility report, publishing the results every year together with the Annual Report.
