If not now, when?

Dear Members of AmCham Denmark,

As we settle into the new year, I would like to take a moment to wish you and your colleagues a very happy and successful 2026 on behalf of the AmCham Denmark team and Board of Directors.

This week’s New Year’s Reception was a welcome opportunity to bring together members, partners, and friends of AmCham Denmark to mark the start of the year. While not everyone was able to join us in person, the evening underscored several themes that are relevant for all of us, and that I believe are especially important as we look ahead.

Put simply, there has never been a more important time to be part of the AmCham Denmark community.

We find ourselves in a period in which the broader U.S.–Danish political relationship is receiving heightened attention. Public debates around geopolitics, security, trade, technology, and regulation are more prominent and, at times, more polarized than in recent years. These discussions can create uncertainty for companies operating across borders and raise questions about what lies ahead for the transatlantic relationship.

At the same time, it is essential not to lose sight of a deeper and more durable reality: the U.S.–Danish business and investment relationship remains strong, broad-based, and deeply embedded in both economies. Every day, U.S. and Danish companies work individually and often together to create jobs, develop new technologies, deliver critical products and services, and invest for the long term. That work continues largely independent of political headlines, and it is precisely this everyday commercial engagement that provides stability, continuity, and perspective during periods of tension.

AmCham Denmark, and our members, are living proof of this reality.

As a member, you are part of a trusted platform that brings together senior business leaders, decision-makers, and stakeholders with a shared interest in strengthening U.S.–Danish commercial ties. You benefit from access to timely insights, curated networks, and forums where complex issues can be discussed in a fact-based, forward-looking, and constructive way. And you do so alongside peers who understand the challenges of operating in a transatlantic environment and who are invested in finding solutions rather than amplifying divisions.

In moments like the one we are in now, that kind of community matters more than ever.
AmCham Denmark works to ensure that the positive contributions of U.S.–Danish business cooperation are visible, understood, and appreciated. We convene conversations that help companies navigate change, anticipate risks, and identify opportunities, whether related to policy, regulation, innovation, sustainability, or security. And we do so in a way that reflects the diversity of views and sectors represented among our membership.

For companies that are active members, this platform is already part of how they engage with the external environment. For those who may be less engaged, or for companies considering whether membership is truly relevant, it is worth asking a simple question: if not now, when?

Periods of stability can make networks feel optional. Periods of uncertainty reveal their true value.

Looking ahead, AmCham Denmark will in 2026 continue to strengthen and sharpen its programming, policy engagement, and member services, with a clear focus on relevance, quality, and impact. We will expand opportunities for meaningful dialogue with public-sector stakeholders, elevate the thought leadership of our members, and ensure that AmCham remains a credible, pragmatic voice for U.S.–Danish business cooperation. Above all, we will remain focused on building a future-oriented community that helps members succeed, individually and collectively, despite external headwinds.

I am grateful for your continued membership and engagement, and I look forward to working with you in the year ahead. Whether through our events, committees, policy discussions, or informal exchanges, I encourage you to make full use of your AmCham membership, and to see it as an asset at a time when connection, perspective, and community truly matter.

With best wishes for a successful year ahead,

Mark Draper
Executive Director
