Nordic Inauguration Debrief

After a turbulent election season, a dynamic transition period, and just hours before President Trump’s inauguration, the Nordic AmCham Directors shared key takeaways, insights, and signals from high-level briefings, strategic conversations, and their collective network of 711 member companies.

To kick off 2025, the Nordic Directors unveiled a new initiative called Nordic Advantage. This program covers those members who belong to all four Nordic AmChams: Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. It represents a fantastic opportunity for companies across the Nordics to shape the AmCham agendas on the issues that matter most. We are proud of the nearly 30 companies that already enjoy the Nordic Advantage. Get in touch with AmCham Denmark to learn more about the Nordic Advantage.

From there, the discussion dove into some of the most common questions asked by AmCham members, everything from New Trump administration nominees, tariff strategies, NATO, U.S. immigration policy, Greenland policy, China relations, energy policy, Inflation Reduction Act, and more.

As the next 100 days pass, the Nordic AmCham Directors encourage members to take the political rhetoric with a grain of salt, and see what policies actually gain traction. Keep an eye out for the EU Commission’s reaction to any new potential tariffs, as well as the U.S.’s other trading partners, like Canada and Mexico. Hold onto your hats – it’s going to be a rollercoaster. Be ready to move quickly and be flexible.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for a deep dive into U.S.-Nordic relations during this pivotal moment!
