ROCKWOOL Named 2025 Transatlantic Company of the Year
AmCham Denmark is proud to announce ROCKWOOL as the winner of the 2025 Transatlantic Company of the Year!
AmCham Denmark is proud to announce ROCKWOOL as the winner of the 2025 Transatlantic Company of the Year. An independent jury selected ROCKWOOL in recognition of its impressive growth, substantial investments, and innovative solutions driving their impressive journey in the U.S. market.
ROCKWOOL has demonstrated remarkable success in the U.S. market, and the last two years the US climbed to be among ROCKWOOL’s top three markets globally. Even more significantly, however, ROCKWOOL’s profitability in the U.S. market exceeded the Group average for the first time in 2024 achieved through a combination of strong demand for non-combustible insulation products as well as high factory productivity.
Jury spokesperson Jørgen Bardenfleth praised ROCKWOOL for its transatlantic achievements, stating, “Over the past four years, ROCKWOOL has achieved impressive results in the U.S., with significant increase in both revenue and number of U.S. employees. Their focus on sustainability and innovation, paired with strong U.S. investments, is a blueprint for success.”
To meet rising demand and strengthen their presence, ROCKWOOL has made major investments in new U.S. facilities, including factories in Washington, Mississippi, and West Virginia.
ROCKWOOL’s stone wool insulation requires large amounts of energy and therefore the company is actively working to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. In 2021, their West Virginia factory became the world’s first large-scale stone wool plant powered entirely by natural gas.
Looking ahead, new investments in Washington State and Mississippi will deliver innovative products to the U.S. market, such as advanced fire protection and noise reduction features, along with proprietary water-saving production solutions.
Rockwool CEO Jes Munk Hansen comments:
“We are proud to be named for this award and recognized for our commitment to the U.S. market. While stone wool may be the main insulation material in Denmark, it’s still a small but growing fraction of the U.S. market. And we absolutely believe in the growth potential there. In both 2023 and 2024, the United States crossed an important threshold for us, becoming our third largest market globally. The factory we’re building in Washington state will be the single largest investment in ROCKWOOL’s history. And it will include the world’s largest electric melter for stone wool. So, when we take the long-term view, we are for sure very optimistic about the U.S. market.”
AmCham Denmark is proud to recognize ROCKWOOL as the 2025 Transatlantic Company of the Year.
“This award highlights the importance of the U.S. market for Danish companies. It provides inspiration and showcases examples of excellence for others to follow. With their innovative solutions, and their growth and investment in the U.S, they are truly a worthy recipient of this award,” says Stephen Brugger, AmCham Executive Director.
AmCham Denmark also congratulates this year’s other highly qualified finalists: FLS, Velux and Kamstrup.
