U.S. Embassy Visa Update

AmCham Denmark, in partnership with U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section and Dansk Industri, hosted members and stakeholders for a virtual update on U.S. visa processing.

During the session, the U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section Chief Christine Fagan and Visa Unit Chief Meredith Davis provided updates on travel to the United States, relevant visa categories for Danish companies, and what to expect in terms of appointment and processing timelines.

In November 2021, the United States re-opened its borders to vaccinated travelers from Europe, which also ended the need to apply for National Interest Exceptions.
The U.S. Embassy has now resumed processing all classes of visas and is fully focused on working through the significant backlog of visa applications to meet the increasing demand from business.
