U.S. Generals Discuss Leadership and the Changing Security Landscape

Yesterday, AmCham members engaged with U.S. General Ben Hodges (Former Commander of U.S. Army Europe) & General  Tod Wolters (Former NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe – SACEUR), for an inspiring discussion on leadership and the changing security landscape.

With their high-level NATO experience, our experts discussed the increasing geopolitical tensions, particularly with Russia’s actions in Ukraine, China’s growing influence and renewed tensions in the Arctic region, which underscore the need for heightened vigilance and preparedness.

A key take-away was, that effective leadership in high-stakes environments—whether in the military or business—demands responsibility, ownership, trust, and integrity. The ability to navigate uncertainty, make tough decisions, and inspire confidence is critical to success.
