U.S. Visa and Tax Update for Foreign Employees
On October 29 AmCham and Dansk Erhverv members gathered to get the latest insights and trends regarding visa and tax rules for foreign employees working in the U.S.
Firstly, a joined presentation by Ed Wright, Martensen Wright PC, USA and Kristyna Rabassa, Consular Section Chief, U.S. Embassy Copenhagen gave an overview of U.S employment visa basics and deep dived into perspectives and potential pitfalls from both applicant’s counsel point of view and that of the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen who processes the applications from Danish companies.
This was followed by input from by Leah D. LeLoup and Hanne R. LeLoup, Partners, Hutchinson & Bloodgood LLP, USA sharing 10 key recommendations on how to avoid costly surprises when dealing with your pre-immigration tax planning
Lastly, Enrico Krog Iversen, CEO, OnRobot presented a business case and shared his personal experiences, leadership wise and cultural, from operating in the U.S both in his current role but also through past assignments with Maersk and Universal Robots.
