US Election Briefing from Jon Decker

White House correspondent, Jon Decker, provided AmCham members from all over the Nordics with an exclusive look at the state of the 2024 presidential election – live from the battleground state of Pennsylvania and on the day of the first debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Jon gave us unique insight into the respective campaigns and what they need to do to win the election on November 5. In his eyes, it comes down to seven states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada. These battleground states are the ones which will essentially decide who will be the next president.

Yesterday, Jon even gave us some early predictions on some of these states. He felt comfortable calling Wisconsin and Michigan for the Democrats. The rest are still up in the air in the race for 270 electoral votes.

As a member of the White House Press Corps since 1995, Jon Decker has covered the Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump administrations. We thank him for generously sharing his unique perspective and expertise!
