Troels Lund Poulsen will be the new Minister of Defense

Troels Lund Poulsen has been appointed as the new Minister of Defense and takes over the post from Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, who becomes Minister of Economy and remains Deputy Prime Minister.

Troels Lund Poulsen has extensive experience in the field of defense as Acting Minister of Defense in the spring of 2023, where he entered into the defence agreement for 2024-2033 together with the parties of the Folketing.

I am looking forward to returning to the Ministry of Defense and working with the employees of the Armed Forces, the Home Guard and the emergency services. And I look forward to continuing the work of entering into the many sub-agreements in the defense settlement. At the same time, I wish Jakob the best of luck with the many tasks in the Ministry of Economy and as chairman of Venstre.
