Corporate Cyber Intrusion – Prevention, Detection & Response

The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) and the American Chamber of Commerce Denmark are pleased to invite security professionals to an event on prevention, detection, and response to corporate cyber intrusion.

Special Agent (SA) and Computer Forensics Agent (CFA) with the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in El Paso, Mark R. Martinez, will present an overview of network intrusion and Homeland Security Investigation’s capabilities in response to intrusion events, specifically the current state of threats to the public and private sectors.

The event will also feature experiences and best practices from Marlene Winther Plas,
Partner & Head of IPT, Denmark at DLA Piper.

About Mark R. Martinez

Special Agent Martinez is assigned to the HSI El Paso Cyber Forensics and Exploitation Group. SA Martinez received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2003. SA Martinez has worked in the field of computer and network security as a system administrator, application programmer, analyst, software engineer, simulation engineer, and now as a criminal investigator and computer forensics examiner.  SA Martinez is an instructor for the HSI Advanced Computer Evidence Recovery Training and the Network Intrusion First Responder course.

Previously SA Martinez worked for the White Sands Missile Range Army Research Lab, the United States Border Patrol, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Computer Crimes Division. SA Martinez also worked for several distinguished companies such as IBM, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), and Raytheon. SA Martinez specializes in the use of the Linux and UNIX-like operating systems as well as network security investigations.
