During 2021, there have been a number of U.S. legal changes to the Buy American Act and other U.S. domestic preference laws. The intent is to strengthen the “America First” agenda and bolster the U.S. manufacturing base. The recent changes, and proposed additional changes, continue to create compliance challenges associated with U.S. government-funded projects.

In particular, these challenges impact products sourced from outside of the United States, including components for U.S.-manufactured goods.  Therefore, it is of significant importance for non-U.S. companies to understand the current U.S. legal landscape as well as the future direction.
