Advocating for a national talent strategy
For many years, the creation of a national talent strategy has been a top priority for AmCham, and we’ve been urging the Danish Government to take action. Now, we are pleased to see that Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, Mia Nyegaard, Jens Kristian Lütken and Københavns Kommune are doing the same!
Back in January, Stephen Brugger, director of AmCham Denmark, spoke up on the issue when he participated in a panel discussion on talent attraction and retention at Københavns Kommunes Business Conference. We are grateful that the municipality has taken some of his words to heart. They are already doing a lot of great things in Copenhagen – especially with their latest business strategy – but, if we want to ensure that Denmark can attract and retain international talent, we need to do it on a national scale. Lack of talent is one of the major challenges that businesses in Denmark face.
As the voice for international business in Denmark, AmCham believes that a national talent strategy, linked closely to Denmark’s investment strategy, would be a major step in the right direction.
