2021 Foreign Investment Summit

On December 1st, AmCham Denmark held its 2021 Foreign Investment Summit at DLA Piper in Copenhagen.

AmCham’s Foreign Investment Summit highlights the vital role international companies play in the Danish economy – and brings together business, government, and political leaders to discuss Denmark’s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to attracting and retaining foreign (and Danish) investments in Denmark.

Foreign companies comprise just 1.2 percent of all companies in Denmark. Yet they’re responsible for more than 20 percent of our private sector employment (320,000 jobs) and more than 27 percent of Danish exports.

During the summit, AmCham released its 2021 FDI Report, produced by Implement Consulting Group. Partner Eva Rytter Sunesen shared the benchmark report, which indicates that Denmark has become a less attractive investment location compared with other similar countries.

During the Summit, executives from Amgen, IFF and Salesforce presented business cases emphasizing the need for strong FDI into Denmark in order to promote innovation & productivity – and attract the right talent.
