AmCham Celebrates 25th Anniversary

On October 10, 250+ guests gathered at Moltkes Palæ in Copenhagen to help AmCham Denmark celebrate its 25th Anniversary at an exclusive black-tie gala.

Special guests included Their Majesties, The King & Queen of Denmark, Minister for the Interior and Health Sophie Løhde, Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov, and U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Alan Leventhal.

The evening’s program started with a video message from Suzanne Clark, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who highlighted the important role that AmCham Denmark plays in helping U.S. and Danish businesses seize new opportunities and enter new markets. AmCham Denmark’s Chair, Tore von Würden (Amgen) took to the stage to thank AmCham’s staff and Board of Directors for their valuable engagement to the organization’s work. And Copenhagen Capacity’s Asbjørn Overgaard Christiansen highlighted the strong partnership between the two organizations with the common goal of bringing investments to Denmark.

AmCham’s Executive Director Stephen Brugger highlighted the strong commitment of AmCham’s members: “Without the engagement of you, our members, we could not have achieved what we have today,” he said.

Before the main course, Bjarne Corydon, CEO of Børsen, gave a talk about the strength of the transatlantic relationship, which set the scene for the 2024 Transatlantic Person of the Year which was awarded to U.S. Ambassador Alan Leventhal, in recognition of his extraordinary efforts to strengthen the transatlantic relationship between Denmark and the United States during his tenure here in Denmark.

During the evening, guests enjoyed an American wine-pairing dinner, facilitated by Anne Aamot from AmericanWine, and together with the help of Moltkes Palæ’s fine chefs and staff.

Following dinner, guests were treated to a musical performance by SABA, a Danish singer, actress and model, who performed her hit song “Sand” that she debuted at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest.

Concluding the evening, NOV Subsea Production Systems was announced as the winner of the 2024 Foreign Company of the Year, and Danfoss was awarded the 2024 Transatlantic Company of the Year. Read more about the achievements of Danfoss here and NOV SPS here.
