Foreign Direct Investments in Practice

AmCham, in partnership with Bech-Bruun, invited members and partners to a seminar outlining the latest developments on the Danish Investment Screening Act after having been in force for almost two years. The experts gave concrete advice on how to navigate foreign direct investments in practice going forward.

Thomas Gjøl-Trønning (Partner), and Caroline-Regitze Sosman (Junior Associate) from Bech-Bruun and Nikolaj Slot Simonsen (Chief Consultant) from the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) evaluated the investment screening process thus far and delved into the key learnings, also from concrete company cases. NKT Photonics presented a quick overview of their recent case where NKT, as seller and a Japanese potential buyer were blocked by the Danish FDI regime for undisclosed reasons.

The event ended with a lively Q&A session moderated by AmCham Deputy Director Einar Dyrhauge.
