Grant Thornton Wins the 2021 AmCham Cup

On August 12, the 20th annual AmCham Cup Golf Tournament took place at the prestigious Simon’s Golf Cup north of Copenhagen.

This year, 19 teams (76 players) from all sectors of Denmark’s International business community competed for the coveted AmCham Cup and many fantastic prizes.

Golfers began the day at 7am with a hearty “American” breakfast at Simon’s Lakeside Restaurant and a course briefing by AmCham’s Stephen Brugger. The tournament’s format, Texas Scramble – ‘Drop Out’ Stroke Play, kept golfers on their toes and ensured everyone had a great day.

In a close team competition, Grant Thornton with team captain Morten Grønbæk at the helm won the 2021 AmCham Cup, just ahead of Copenhagen Capacity in second and Jyske Bank in third.

Once again, the highlight of the awards ceremony was a drawing for a gift certificate towards Icelandair tickets to any of their many destinations in the U.S. and Canada.

However, no matter what the prize, everyone was clearly delighted to spend the day on a truly great course.
