HR Committee Experts Discuss EU Working Hours Directive

On March 15, AmCham HR Committee legal experts held a webinar discussing the technical requirements and implementation of the new Act on Working Time based on EU’s Working Time Directive which comes into force on July 1, 2024.

Many companies are working to understand and be compliant with the act, which states that all employers in Denmark are obligated to register their employees’ working time, regardless of the number of employees.

Employment lawyers Anne Marie Abrahamson (Lundgrens) and Marianne Granhøj (Kromann Reumert) shared practical approaches to compliance including an overview of the new rules including requirements for the time tracking system, the concept of ‘self-planners’ in the scheme, and practical advice on how to move forward.
