Implementation of NIS2 Directive is Delayed

The Danish Ministry of Defense has just announced that the long-awaited implementation of the EU cybersecurity directive NIS2 will be delayed. The same goes for the CER directive.

Originally, the implementation of the directives was set to begin in the first quarter of 2024, but with the delay the expectation now is that it will begin in October 2024.

This means that the deadline for complying with the new rules will be around the end of 2024 or start of 2025. The delay will perhaps mean that companies may have to face a shorter period of implementation of the national rules, which emphasizes the need to lay the groundwork for NIS2 compliance as soon as possible.
