Remembering Søren Pape Poulsen, The Chairman of De Konservative

The chairman of De Konservative, Søren Pape Poulsen, died on Saturday after suffering a brain haemorrhage during a meeting of the party’s board in Vejen on Friday. He was 52 years old.

“Everyone who has been lucky enough to know Søren knows that he was a caring person. Most people could even feel it, even if they had only met him briefly. He always thought of others first,” wrote the secretary general of De Konservtive Søren Vandsø on the party home page.

Søren Pape Poulsen had been chairman of De Konservative since 2014, replacing Lars Barfoed. In the four years prior, he had been the mayor of Viborg.

He was elected to Folketinget for the first time in 2015, where he was Minister of Justice from 2016 to 2019 under the VLAK government with Lars Løkke Rasmussen at the helm.
