The Bright Green Summit – A Nordic Cooperation

On November 18, AmCham Denmark, in partnership with the Nordic AmChams and Mundus International hosted the virtual Bright Green Summit as a rapid response to the discussions held the previous two weeks at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The summit was kicked off with opening remarks by Rosemary Gallant, the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, from the U.S. Embassy in London and Per Bolund, Minister for Environment and Climate in Sweden. He called on the participating organizations and Nordic countries to “work collectively to a provide a secure future.”

Torsten Lichtenau, Senior Partner at Bain & Company, began by presenting: Beyond COP26: An Action Plan for CEOs. Torsten described the new post-COP26 climate as the “Great Acceleration” and was one of many speakers during the day to highlight the role of “customer-driven desire for change.”

Through the afternoon, speakers and panelists provided expert presentations and analysis on how governments, corporations, business organizations and consumers could take positive climate action steps in their daily routines. Including the Chargé d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Denmark, Stuart Dwyer, who presented during the session on Trade & Investments.
