Leadership Mentoring Program – Breakfast Workshop
How to align successful global teams: This was the theme of the day when AmCham’s Leadership Mentoring Program gathered for a breakfast workshop at FLSmidth‘s HQ in Valby.
Participants benefited from the broad experience of Joshua Meyer, FLSmidth’s President of Service Business Line, along with consultant Henry Zinglersen, CEO at Mindlab Global Solutions whose company helps executives with team alignment after global M&A’s.
As an experienced leader who has worked around the world, Joshua Meyer shared his leadership journey, and how his mantra “It’s not good. It’s not bad. It’s just DIFFERENT” has helped him navigate the complexities of working – and leading – in foreign cultures. He added that there needs to be some level of global corporate consistency – but it’s also important to adapt locally – to engage your people around the world.
Joshua’s inspiring presentation set the scene for a leadership workshop by Henry Zinglersen, who used real life scenarios from his clients to illustrate some of the types of cultural and personal differences we all have – and may not recognize – in others. And how important it is to understand the perspective of our team and co-workers. It’s not good. It’s not bad. It’s just different.
